The Perceptive Color Sensor PCS-I/PCS-I-F
The compact sensor for perceptive color recognition in industry automation
With the color sensor PCS-I/PCS-I-F Silicann Systems is closing the gap between already existing simple compact units and highly-developed fiber optics based color sensors. Due to the outstanding functionality of the PCS-I/PCS-I-F compared with existing devices Silicann is defining a new class of color sensors – compact sensors for perceptive industrial color recognition with very subtle color resolution as a consequence. Incorrect color checkings that are possible with usual RGB-sensors are eliminated with the PCS-I/PCS-I-F. Slightest color nuances can finally be recognized in the compact color sensor segment.
Specific Features
- perceptual color processing (i.e., the color sensor processes color signals like humans do)
- usage of colorimetric color spaces like L*a*b* and L*u*v*
- fixed optic (fixed distance to object) or fiber optic (distance to object changeable)
- 3 colors teachable via key input (255 colors storable via software)
- max. 4 color channels (15 with binary encoding)
- adjustable hold times for each color channel
- signal clipping indicator, automatic signal gain via key operation, adjustable gain level
- PC based control of the sensor via Win dll function libraries and LabVIEW drivers (included in delivery as software package „PCSLib“) is possible
- firmware update via RS232 interface
- color grouping function (i.e., to assign different color samples to one output)
