Control, handling and functionality of the PCS-III are similar to those of PCS-I and PCS-II. The essential differences arise from the potential operating modes.

With the setting „referenced“ one sensor input operates against a (stable) reference (reference white). The second sensor input is the working channel which is directed to the object that has to be recognized. In this mode a permanent online correction of color values allows long-term stable color checks. In cases where long-term color recognition or color recognition in changing ambient temperature are crucial the PCS-III is preferably applied.

By the setting „differential“ color differences between both sensor inputs are captured. In this operating mode the color table contains color difference values and no true color values. The main fields of application for this mode can be found in recognition of any color or contrast edge independent of the respective object color.
